What are the editions and sizes in the Yosemite Suite?
The Yosemite Suite includes 29 signed limited edition works by David Hockney. Twenty four are regular format prints on paper measuring 37 x 28 inches (94 x 71.1 cm) in editions of 25, and five are large scale works mounted on Dibond panels measuring 93 x 70 inches (236.2 x 177.8 cm) in editions of 12.The regular format prints have a broad collector base due to their manageable size, making them suitable for a wide range of homes and display spaces. The larger works are produced in much smaller editions and are physically more commanding, which makes them significantly rarer and harder to source on the secondary market -

Why did David Hockney create the Yosemite Suite?
"Enjoyment of the landscape is a thrill."
- David Hockney
During visits to Yosemite Valley in 2010 and 2011, Hockney set out to capture the scale and shifting drama of California’s most recognisable national park. Yosemite presented a new challenge within his long-standing interest in how we see and record the world, with granite cliffs, strong light and vivid colour pushing him to rethink the language of landscape art.The Yosemite Suite reflects his belief that digital tools could bring fresh possibilities to a traditional subject. Well-known landmarks, including Bridalveil Fall, El Capitan and the historic Ahwahnee Hotel, are reinterpreted with bold colour and confident line, combining place and technology in a way that continues Hockney’s lifelong engagement with the landscape.
