• Arturo Di Modica (1941-21), Unique Copper Charging Bull & Bear

    Arturo Di Modica (1941-21)

Unique Copper Charging Bull & Bear
During the dead of night on the 15th Dec 1989, Arturo Di Modica arrived on Wall St with his 16ft Bronze Charging Bull on the back of a truck. With no prior permission, the Sicilian born sculptor proceeded to drop the sculpture outside of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) as his gift to the American people. Conceived in the wake of the Black Monday stock market crash, Di Modica intended to inspire all whom came into contact with it to carry on fighting with strength and determination for a better future.

For decades after Charging Bull's rise to icon status, Di Modica was approached with commission requests to create a matching 'Bull & Bear'. All of which he rejected. That was until 2013 when the artist finally agreed to create the 4ft copper bull and bear for Geist's clients Lord Farmer & George Farmer.
