Jean-Michel Basquiat’s Untitled (Dog Leg Study) is an intellectually charged work that fuses anatomy, language, and power. Centred on a fractured diagram of a dog’s leg, the composition functions both as a scientific study and a symbolic device, using skeletal forms, arrows, and handwritten notes to examine systems of control, belief, and vulnerability.

Executed in Basquiat’s unmistakable visual language of raw line, scrawled text, symbols, and colour accents, the screenprint blurs the boundaries between textbook illustration, street imagery, and cultural critique. Produced posthumously from the original drawing, the edition retains the urgency of the artist’s mark-making while offering a focused, collectable example of Basquiat’s enduring exploration of domination, resistance, and the politicised body.
