    CS GAS BUST (2017) is a commanding mixed-media sculpture by Banksy, merging the classical and the contemporary in a striking act of political symbolism. A marble-style bust is fitted with a face covering, evoking imagery of protest and civil unrest, while a dramatic cloud of faux tear gas, formed from billowing poly-fil, swirls around the figure. At its base lies a spent CS gas canister, anchoring the piece in the reality of state force. The collision of ancient aesthetics with modern resistance tactics creates a haunting visual that is both elegant and confrontational.
     
     In CS GAS BUST, the protestor is elevated to the status of a classical monument, subverting the traditional function of sculpture and turning the tools of remembrance into instruments of defiance.
