The 2020s have seen Banksy remain committed to the streets as his primary canvas. Even as his reputation has grown, the work often appears in public spaces, unannounced and unmediated.  This decade reflects his belief that art belongs in the public realm, where it can be seen, discussed and challenged by everyone. His originals from this period carry the same immediacy and accessibility that first brought his work to prominence, while speaking to the issues shaping the world today.
  • “A wall is a very big weapon. It’s one of the nastiest things you can hit someone with.”
    Banksy
In the 2020s, Banksy has continued to treat the urban environment as both canvas and stage. His works from this period often appear in direct response to world events, using public walls, bridges and transport systems to deliver messages that are immediate and unfiltered. By placing art in the path of everyday life, he ensures it reaches audiences who might never step into a gallery. These pieces are as much about the moment of encounter as they are about the image itself, often lasting only days before being removed, painted over or claimed.
