"The greatest crimes in the world are not committed by people breaking the rules but by people following the rules.”
– Banksy
The central figure, caught mid-motion, retains its powerful ambiguity: part-rioter, part-romantic. By replacing the weapon with flowers, Banksy softens aggression into a call for peace, while the act of throwing suggests urgency and resistance. This balance between tenderness and defiance has made the Flower Thrower one of Banksy’s most enduring images, and in Thrower he reframes the icon through both street art immediacy and Pop Art commentary. -
